Providential
Feeling:

Dear Friends and Family,
The Christmas season is now behind us, and it's back to our daily routines of school, work, and general busyness. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, as I did. Instead of celebrating everything on Christmas Day, my family stretched our festivities out over several days. On the Sunday before Christmas, Jonathan, Shawna, and Coppelia came to our house for our Christmas together. That Tuesday, we exchanged gifts among our immediate family (Mom, Dad, Phillip, me, and Phillip's girlfriend Laura). On Christams Day, Mom's side of the family came to our house for lunch and presents. Then we went to my grandparents' house to spend time with my dad's side of the family. Doing it this way seemed to work really well. It definitely cut down everyone's stress levels, since we weren't rushing to finish everything in one day.
The Spring 2009 semester began yesterday. I had one class. Today I have two classes. On Wednesdays I have one class, and I have two classes on Thursdays. My first class went pretty well. Since I've only been back to school one day, I haven't gotten back into the swing of things yet. That will take at least a week. So right now I'm still wishing that I was on break, or that summer would get here next week. Being back on campus for one day has reminded me how much I hate school. Hopefully that hatred for all things academic will lessen as I get back into the routine of things again. Since I've only had the one class, I don't really have much to say about school, except that I'm glad that none of my classes start before 1 P.M.
During Finals week in December, I impulsively applied for a job at the college Food Court. My thinking was that I would work a few hours here and there in my breaks between classes and earn a few extra bucks in addition to my job at E-Max. Less than a week later, I learned that E-Max was laying me off. I feel that my applying for that job was not so much impulse, but God leading me to another job, because He knew I would need it. I'm pretty sure I would not have come up with the idea of taking a second job on my own. I'm convinced that it was purely Providential that I took the Food Court job when I did, before I even had a clue that I would no longer have a position at E-Max. My first day working at the Food Court was yesterday. It went well. Of course the first day on the job was overwhelming, but I don't think it will be too bad once I learn the ropes. I keep discovering that I've told my boss I can work when I really can't, so I'm not exactly sure what my schedule is going to be. I do know that I'll have Wednesdays, Fridays (which I need to leave open for Practicums), and Sundays off, and I'll be called in for Saturdays as a last resort. So it doesn't seem like my schedule will be too demanding.
Tha's all for now. I hope that all is going well with you, and that your new year is getting off to a wonderful start.
~Amy~
